Drew Stephens, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, and holistic mental health care across the lifespan. With a strong clinical foundation built from over six years of experience as a registered nurse in emergency departments, crisis stabilization units, and both short- and long-term inpatient psychiatric settings, I bring a deep understanding of the complexities individuals and families face in their mental health journeys.
As a proud member of the team at Conifer Counseling/Park County Counseling, I provide psychiatric services across three clinic locations: Conifer, Bailey, and Fairplay, Colorado. My passion for serving rural communities runs deep—rooted in my upbringing in the Black Hills of South Dakota and strengthened by my commitment to improving mental health access in underserved areas. I believe that mental health care should be as personal and nuanced as the individuals receiving it, and I’m honored to be a part of expanding high-quality services to Colorado’s mountain communities.
My approach to care is collaborative, person-centered, and integrative. I specialize in working with children and adolescents, but also treat adults and families across the lifespan. I tailor each treatment plan to the individual’s unique strengths, goals, and needs, blending thoughtful medication management with therapeutic support and an emphasis on long-term wellness. At the core of my practice is the belief that hope and trust are essential to healing—and I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where patients and their families feel truly heard, understood, and empowered.
I am particularly drawn to the intersection of medication and psychotherapy, and I work closely with therapists, families, and community partners to ensure continuity of care and comprehensive support. My clinical decisions are grounded in evidence-based practices, yet always infused with warmth, curiosity, and a genuine respect for the individual’s lived experience.
Outside the clinic, I recharge by staying active in the outdoors. I enjoy backpacking, fishing, paddleboarding, gardening, camping, and hiking with my loyal dog, Banjo. Yoga is also an important part of my daily life—it helps me stay centered, grounded, and connected to the values I bring to my work. Whether on a mountain trail or in a session with a client, I believe in showing up with presence, authenticity, and a commitment to growth.
